BCW Takes Centre Stage!

BCW are delighted to have won a Lancashire Charity Award for their CSR work with Pendleside Hospice. Having supported this charity as part of their CSR policy for the last 3 years they are proud recipients of both the Overall Corporate Challenge Award and the Digital Marketing Award at the 2019 event.
The innovative and fun idea for 2019 was “Pie Face for Pendleside” an idea presented by Duane Knappett, Senior Machine Operator. Pie Face gave people the opportunity to splat their Mum, Dad, Friend or Boss! BCW asked for a donation of £3 per splat, nominate 3 people to take part and share the video via social media. This helped to raise awareness for Pendleside Hospice and increased their social media impressions at every share.
The judges said: “BCW totally embraced the concept of the challenge from the launch to the very last day. Every single week they had something going on to raise funds within their organisation. “BCW organised various community events for which they managed to achieve fantastic support and promoted the work of the hospice.”
BCW also took part in football events at evenings and weekends, hosted a family fun day with a charity raffle and continued with the famous BCW Car Pull challenge!
Jen Whittaker, Marketing Manager stated that the success was down to fantastic staff engagement through our enthusiastic staff whose involvement enabled us to support a local charity which touches the hearts of many people in the region.
All this activity helped raise vital funds for the hospice and a grand total of £146,732 was raised by 40 businesses taking part in the corporate challenge.
