Making it in Lancashire

With over 80 attendees it was fantastic to host the East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce event. BCW were excited to welcome Melissa Conlon from AMRC, Peter McOnie from Made Smarter and Stephen Gregson from MHA Moore & Smalley.

The event allowed BCW to showcase the 50,000 square foot expansion housing their fully automated robotic cells.  Their design for manufacture team (DEM) are responsible for the design, build, install and programming of the automated engineering solutions.  The use of poka-yoke methodologies across all processes ensures a fully conforming product. These advancements in digital capabilities are revolutionising the manufacturing processes reaping the benefit of more efficient production.

In 2017 the Chamber launched a new network for Manufacturing businesses entitled ‘Making it in Lancashire’, designed to provide Lancashire manufacturers with access to information, opportunities and best practice insights as well as providing a forum to meet with your peers.

These highly successful breakfast meetings are hosted by local manufacturers and usually include a factory or showroom tour, which have proven to be really popular.

The network is designed to provide Lancashire manufacturers with access to information, opportunities and best practice insights as well as providing a forum to meet with your peers. Unlike many networks, Making it in Lancashire is a closed group and focuses on the needs of Manufacturing businesses only.
