BCW Team complete in-house Covid Testing Training
BCW Manufacturing Group can now successfully complete in-house Covid Testing following its parent group, Ansuka Group Ltd taking a proactive approach in trying to combat the virus and continuing to keep the workplace as safe as possible for all employees. Working in partnership with Burnley Council, Claire Whelan, Group Managing Director supported the Lateral Flow Testing for the group and BCW were one of the first employers within the area to complete this mass testing.
The input from the Army with their experience of conducting tests over the last 3 months has been invaluable to BCW as a business and now we can proudly say that 27 staff, across the group, have successfully trained alongside the Army Covid Testing Team allowing the businesses to complete in-house testing.
The training included in-depth e-learning on the NHS Website and assessed modules to prove employee understanding. The second and practical part of understanding was the importance of infection control, sanitising, conducting and recording the Lateral Flow Tests.
The team rose to the challenge and staff were congratulated on their efforts to complete these vital tests. Team Leaders, registration, testing and results recording were looked at in depth and everyone’s confidence had increased significantly by the end of the training.
BCW are now able to conduct weekly COVID testing for all staff onsite. This initiative is fantastic, and the company has seen exceptional results with 100% negative results both at BCW and group wide for the past two weeks.
BCW expressed they were exceptionally grateful to the Army Covid Testing Team and thanked the team who had trained up, giving them an essential tool to assist in providing a Covid Safe workplace for all staff. The lateral flow testing also plays a huge part in helping to stop the spread of the virus within the wider community whilst empowering its own staff.
